How To Choose The Right Coin For The Trick

Choosing which coin to use is completely up to your preference. Each magicians hand will determine which coin is the best fit for them. The trick may also dictate what type of coin you want to use as well, such as using a coin with a milled edge if the trick involves gripping the coin by it’s edges.

As your skill level increases, it is always good to use a shinier coin first as it stands out and grabs better attention. Then you should attempt to use a smaller coin as the appeal will be much greater due to how much more skill is needed to perform any coin trick with a smaller coin.

Starting out with a poker chip or an American Half Dollar Coin is often advised as the size is usually the most conducive for an up and coming coin magician.
