Learn How To Do The Stop Force / Slip Force Card Sleight
Here’s a quick run down of how to do the Stop Force or Slip Force card sleight of hand:
- Set the card that you would like to force somewhere in the middle of the deck and establish your hold with a finger break above that card. The deck should be face down in your dominant hand.
- A finger break is when you use your pink finger discreetly to separate two cards so that you can easily find the seam to cut from. It will take practice to hold it without being seen, but optimally, you’ll be able to find your cut without your audience even noticing.
- Riffle through the deck with your thumb and inform the participant that they may decide when to stop.
- It will take practice, but considering how unlikely it is for them to catch you skipping a few cards, you should be able to stop right where your finger break is. If they call it out well before or after the finger break, pull your thumb out as if you slipped up during your riffle and excuse yourself for having butterfingers than ask them to do it again
- Cut the top part of the deck off and pass your forced card sitting on the top of the second half to the participant.
