Learn How To Hold A Coin Edgewise And Flatwise

When you hold a coin, there are two different termed ways to do so. Learning these terms will make it easier for you to following along with the Coin Tricks explained on Magic Tricks And You. Neither of these ways to hold a coin are difficult to do or follow.

Edgwise Hold - Coin Trick BasicsThe first is known as an edgewise hold coin hold, in which you hold the coin by its thin edges, which puts either heads or tails of the coin facing your palm, and the opposite facing outward.

Flatwise Hold - Coin Trick BasicsThe second is known as a flatwise hold coin hold, which is where your fingers are placed with one on the face side of the coin and one on the tails side of the coin. Your fingers should be sandwiching the coin.

Both of these holds are done predominantly with the pointer finger and thumb in a pincer grasp as if you were trying to directly touch the tips of your finger and thumb together.
