Four Friendly Kings - Learn Magic Tricks

Learn How To Do The Four Friendly Kings Card Trick

This trick relies mostly on misdirecting your audience while making sure that your actions aren’t detectable by them either. When you first start out, you may need to have the four friendly kings card trick already established and ready to go, but as you gain a better feel for card tricks in general, you’ll find that you will be able to do it all on the fly. The biggest advantage that this trick has is that you can come back to it as your skill level progresses and add a little bit more flair to it making it your own.

Effect:

With the Four Kings fanned out in your hand, display them to the audience and begin explaining to them about how close the Four Kings are as friends. They always seem to be inseparable but they know that they’re powerful enough to find each other no matter what obstacles get between them. Fold the Four Kings up into a pile and place them on top of the deck face down.

Reveal the top King on the deck and show it to your audience, then place it under the rest of the deck. Continue explaining about the connection between the Four Kings as you take the second card and place it in the center of the deck. Do the same with the third card as well and reveal the lonely King on the top of the deck. Now, simply explain to your audience that the cards between these Four Kings won’t be a problem for them to find each other through.

Cut the deck of cards in the middle and put the bottom of the deck on to the top and then search through the cards face up so your audience can see you find all Four Kings together in the middle of the deck.

Materials Required:

For this trick, all you need is one complete deck of cards. It does not matter if they are already open or not.

Preparing The Trick:

You will need to remove the Four Kings from the deck along with two other non-specific cards. Holding these cards in a pile, from top to bottom, you will need the second and third cards to be those non-specific cards. When you fan out the cards however, you need to hide those two cards behind the second King, or the fourth cards in the pile without letting your audience see it.

What’s The Secret?:

When you place the cards on top of the deck, the top card will be a King. Reveal that to your audience then put it on the bottom of the deck. The next two cards will be placed randomly in the center of the deck, which isn’t an issue at all considering they are the two non-specific cards you hid behind the second King.

When you finish with that, you will have one King on the bottom of the deck, and three Kings on the top of the deck. Cutting the deck and placing the bottom of the deck onto the top simply reunites your Four Kings, proving just how powerful their friendship is.
