Learn How To Do The “Do As I Do” Magic Trick
This is an excellent card magic trick to start off with as it is very straight forward to learn and perform. Once you’ve practiced “Do As I Do” and feel confident performing the trick, you’ll find that even in a situation where you may lose your calm, you’ll still have difficulties accidentally revealing the trick itself.
Effect:
Two decks of cards are placed on a table between you and your participant. You will ask your participant to choose one of the two desk and take it up into their hands while you take the deck left behind and do the same. Looking at your participant, you say to them “Do as I do” so that they will follow along as you shuffle and cut your deck in the same fashion as you have to make sure they are both thoroughly mixed.
From there, you will trade decks with your spectator, cutting the deck and memorizing the card visible at the cut point, and then placing it back into the deck. Before returning it to your participant, cut their deck one final time and then pass it back.
With each of you holding your own deck, cut them once more before searching for your card. When both cards are found and revealed, magically, they are the same card.

Materials Required:
You will need two distinguishably different decks of card that have all 52 cards still intact. Take advantage of two packs of cards sold that come with one in red and one in blue for this trick.
What’s The Secret?:
Have your participant select a deck and you take the other. Each of you should take your respective decks into your hands and begin shuffling them.
When you have finished shuffling and mixing up your cards for the first time, you’ll need to know the bottom card of your deck. You can accomplish this by taking the deck and placing it against your forehead face side first. Don’t move your eyes to try and look at it, simply catch it out of the corner of your eye as you’ll have two chances to see it go by.
Swap decks with your participant and place them down on the table. Both of you will cut the deck and place the top half of the deck to the right. Look at the top card on the bottom of the original stack. At this point you will tell your participant to remember the card and you’ll simply ignore that step. Place the card on top of the right hand pile then place the left hand pile on top of that. Now your participants card is directly under the bottom card that you have memorized. Cut the deck, avoiding where those two cards are so your participant does the same, and exchange decks back.
Once you’ve received your deck back, you’ll cut it one last time before you and your participant begin searching through your original deck for your card. While they’re looking for the actual card they had, you’ll be searching for that bottom card that you have memorized. The card right after that one will be your participants card, however, if you find that your memorized card is at the bottom of the deck, your participants card will be at the top of the deck.
Pull out your participants card and place it face down on the table. Looking eye to eye with your participant, count out loud, “One. Two. Three” and reveal the same card.
